Sioux City Westside Connection

Registration for Football is going to look a little different this year. We are asking that you register your player so that we have numbers, however, we will not be asking for players fees until we get the all clear form the league that we will be playing.
Our football program challenges youth to excel both mentally and physically. The program is physically centered on teaching a solid foundation of football fundamentals, but also offers conditioning, and training techniques to improve speed, balance, and endurance. The program also provides a healthy social outlet, and team building skills that will last a lifetime.
Registration will be $70 which will include use of game jersey, shoulder pads, and football pants The jersey, pads, and pants will all need to be turned in at the end of the season.
During these uncertain times we do not have any indication on when practices may start. We will keep you posted as we learn more.
We have put a tentative end date for registration as August 14th. This could be extended or shortened depending on factors out of our control. The league start and end dates listed on the registration are tentative and subject to change
Traditionally, all Sioux Border Conference games will be played on Saturdays beginning one to two weeks after Labor Day. Scheduling works very different for football. The league assigns a home team each week and they are responsible for scheduling game times, so game times may be delayed. As soon as the football committee knows the schedule, you will know the schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to provide my child as far as equipment?
Helmet, Mouthpiece, practice jersey and cleats

Why are game times provided on a week to week basis rather than a regular game schedule?
The Sioux Borders league only assigns which teams will play each other and when.  The home team is responsible for scheduling and communicating game times with the visiting team.  Once those times are communicated to our coaches the information is sent out to the parents.

What are you doing as an organization to ensure the safety and well-being of our kids in this high contact sport?
All Football coaches must pass a background check, complete USA Heads-up Football certification and the Double-Goal Coach Certification with Positive Coaching Alliance.  They must also practice the things that they learn within these certifications.

Where does my $70 players fee go?
The players fee goes to cover equipment and league costs. We also do fundraisers to help cover costs that the players fees do not cover.
