THERE WILL BE NO SPRING VOLLEYBALL FOR 2020

This will give our athletes time to enhance their individual and team skills, give coaches time to build their game and coaching skills, and prepare them for the Fall Volleyball season.

If you have any questions, please contact the Volleyball Advisor, Paula Acero, at [email protected].

Competitive and Recreational

We understand that not every player develops their skills at the same pace.  We also understand that kids play sports for many reasons.  Some are new to the sport and want to give it a try, some want to play on a team with their friends and some need a competitive platform to thrive.  Because of this we offer a Competitive and a Recreation Program within Westside Volleyball.    To learn more about the difference between Competitive and Recreation Volleyball please click here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to purchase for my child?
Your child will need black spandex, black socks, knee pads and athletic shoes.

If I line judge or score keep why do I still have to pay to watch my child play?
The money that you pay to get in goes to the league, not Westside Connection.  One of the rules of playing in the league is that the team must provide a line judge and scorekeeper.  Fulfilling these duties is also a part of the Westside Connection parent code of conduct.

Why are game schedules distributed so last minute?
We are at the mercy of the leagues that we play in to complete the schedules.  They are distributed to the parents as soon as we receive them from the league.

Why not bring in experienced coaches to coach the competitive teams?
The cost to do this is generally around $1,000 a season per team which would then raise players fees to about $190 a player.

Why is it so hot in the gym during games?
The schools do not run the air conditioning during non-school sponsored events.

Where does my $70 players fee go?
The players fees help cover league costs along with equipment used at practices.   We also do fundraisers to help cover costs not covered by the players fees.
